FD: “KBC invests in Amsterdam fintech for wealth- and asset managers”
The Belgian KBC Start it Fund and Dutch-Belgian investment fund Volta Ventures have contributed €2 million to Blanco, acquiring a minority interest in the Amsterdam-based fintech start-up that is raising capital to expand into Belgium and Luxembourg.
Blanco provides innovative technology in know-your-customer (KYC) and client risk analyses processes to asset managers and banks through a cloud-based investment platform. Blanco founder Joost Walgemoed confirms that Blanco has ambitions to break into the Benelux market. The Amsterdam team currently serves around thirty Dutch asset managers, but plans are in place to set up a team of three in Belgium and a branch office in Luxembourg.
